Academic honesty in the advancement of knowledge requires that all students, instructors, and staff respect the integrity of one another's work and recognize the importance of acknowledging and safeguarding the work of others. In AS&E, academic honesty rules exist on three levels: (1) the entire College, (2) the specific course(s) students take, and (3) specific assignments/exams/projects students have in those courses.
Academic dishonesty is a serious violation of the trust upon which an academic community depends. The AS&E Academic Honesty Policy is both an articulation of the kinds of behaviors that violate this trust, and the means by which that trust is safeguarded and restored. In AS&E, we aim to educate all members of the UR community about the nuances of this complex issue. See the honesty website for more information.
